Basketball Season Begins

Good afternoon,

Following the Thanksgiving break, the KESD athletic programming for the winter will begin with basketball parent meetings on Monday, Nov. 29th in Concord and at the Lyndon Town School, with practices beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 30th at both gyms. It is not too late to join in. If you haven't signed up yet, please go to the KESD website, Athletics page and complete the

Nordic programming will have parent meetings announced at a later date, as we await snow cover that will allow for skiing to begin.

Required paperwork - Please go to the KESD website, click on Athletics, and go to Parent Info. There are there that can be downloaded and need to be completed for participation (Well Exam Form and Registration/Proof of Insurance). If your student/athlete participated in either Fall Soccer or XC Running their paperwork is already in for the year.

Parent Meetings - the following meetings are important for getting our programs started.  I would encourage each family to send one representative. Please remember that all in attendance will need to sign in upon entering the building and remain masked throughout until exiting the building. Thank you

KESD basketball in Concord/Lunenburg for grades PK-8.

We have been fortunate to have the Waterford School partner with the Concord/Lunenburg athletes at the 5/6 and 7/8 levels. This partnership will allow us to sponsor separate boys and girls teams at these levels. We could use a few more 5/6 boys to fill out that roster, but the others are in great shape.

Monday, 11/29 - Parent meetings in the Concord School gymnasium (for Concord/Lunenburg/Waterford families).

Grades 5/6 at 6:30

Grades 7/8 at 7:00

Saturday, 12/4 - Parent meetings in the Concord School gymnasium (for Concord/Lunenburg families).

PK-2 Skills at 8:45, first practice to follow 9-10.

Grades 3/4 at 10, first practice to follow 10:30-11:30.

KESD basketball at Lyndon Town School

(All students from Lyndon Town, Burke Town, Miller's Run, Newark, Sutton and Riverside for grades 5-8.)

Monday, 11/29 - Parent meetings in the Lyndon Town gymnasium.

Grades 5/6 at 5:00

Grades 7/8 at 5:30

Lyndon Youth Basketball will be sending a flyer out to address the start of K-4 programming.

Practices will begin for grades 5-8 in both Concord and Lyndon on Tuesday, 11/30. Times will be posted on Monday the 29th on the KESD website, and announced at the meetings.

I am looking for assistant coaches for different levels, and there may be second teams at 5/6 and 7/8 in Lyndon needing a Head Coach. There is a need for a 5/6 Boys Head Coach in Concord as well.

If you have any questions, or are interested in coaching, please reply to this email.

Thank you and have a wonderful Thanksgiving! --David McGinn
