Meet Lori Sheehan,

Concord School Instructional Assistant

Lori Sheehan, also known as Mrs. Sheehan to her 5th and 6th grade students, has worked with Concord School and ºÚÁÏÍø East School District for 25 years! After moving back to her family's hometown and having deep roots in the community, she married her husband, who went to Concord school his whole life, and started their family. Being in Concord, she felt a very strong, committed sense of community and it made her decide she wanted to dedicate her time and energy to the community of Concord School in hopes of helping her children feel that same deep connection that she and her husband feel.

Lori Sheehan, also known as Mrs. Sheehan to her 5th and 6th grade students, has worked with Concord School and ºÚÁÏÍø East School District for 25 years! After moving back to her family's hometown and having deep roots in the community she married her husband, who went to Concord school his whole life, and started their family. Being in Concord, she felt a very strong, committed sense of community and it made her decide she wanted to dedicate her time and energy to the community of Concord Schools in hopes of helping her children feel the same deep connection that she and her husband feel.

Mrs. Sheehan was asked a series of questions regarding her time at Concord School. Below are some of the questions that were asked, followed by her answers.

Q: What is your favorite thing about working in a school?

Answer:  "I love to learn and in turn, I also love helping children learn. Watching the kids grow and become their best selves is very exciting".

Q: What have been some of your favorite moments as an educator?

Answer:  "I have had so many. The best moments are when you connect with a student. Helping them feel safe, loved, seen and heard".

Q: What are you looking forward to about this school year?

Answer:  "I always look forward to making new connections. I also look forward to watching the students blossom as I see them doing something they love. It could be at a concert, winter activities, playing at recess, or by helping a fellow classmate".

Q: Do you have any additional information that you would like to include in your employee spotlight?

Answer:  "I am very appreciative to be working with such a dedicated and caring staff".

Congratulations to Devon Bedor of Lyndon, Vermont, who has been honored with the 2025 Vermont Writers’ Prize in poetry for his beautiful and heartfelt piece, “Sowing Season.” Hosted by Green Mountain Power and Vermont Magazine, the prestigious contest recognized Devon for his moving reflection on the tension between everyday responsibilities and the longing for peace and beauty in nature.
