Lyndon 5/6 Boys Soccer at Haverhill Tournament 10/16

The KESD 5/6 boys team traveled over to Haverhill on Saturday, to play in the big SoccerFest Tournament.

They played three mini 20 minute matches in a pool play group and were barely edged out by Colonel Town by one point in combined play points 11-12.

(The point scoring format was 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 1 point for each scored during a match, with a maximum of 3 per game).

Our total tournament points would have placed us in the top 5 teams out of 15.

They faced off against an aggressive Colonel Town team in their first match. Although they played hard, they lost the match 2-0 due to a penalty shot and another small defensive mistake.

The KESD boys decided to use that defeat to help them stay hungry, as they went on to beat Bradford in game two 2-0, which gave them five total points. Both goals were scored by Graham Moriarty.

In their third and final match of the day, KESD decided to pour it on and leave it all out in the field as they walked away with a max of six tournament points and with a game score of 6-0. Graham continued to add to his season goal total with four, Grayson Bias netted one, and Zak Aubin scored his first goal of the season.

In the end, we didn't advance to the semi finals, but played hard and well. The goalie position was shared by Zak and Xavier Pittman, who combined together to only allow two goals scored against the team in the combined three games.
