KESD 5/6 Boys Soccer at Danville Jamboree 10/9

It was a beautiful warm Fall day, and a great day to play some soccer. The KESD 5/6 boys team knew that they were going to have to play aggressively, as they were going up against two solid teams in the Danville Jamboree.

In the first match, they went up against St. Jay's 5th grade team, who they lost against earlier in the season. Our KESD boys came out strong, controlling the ball for most of the match and ended up walking away with a 4-2 win. They were led with a beautiful long chip goal by Grayson Bias, a pair of goals from Kellan Bristol, and one more netted by the team's leading scorer Graham Moriarty.

Even though they received two late goals against them towards the end of the match, the KESD goal was shut down for most of the other team's shots by a split unit of Xavier Pittman and Grayson Bias.

In the second match, they faced off against a small, but still aggressive Haverhill team. Due to the lack of players, both teams agreed to a 7v7 match, allowing the other team to have one sub. This disorganized the KESD boys at first and got them down quickly in the first half. However, due to some adjustments and a very short burst of sub rotations during the second half, the team was able to get back into it and ended the match with a 5-5 tie.

The KESD team was led by Graham, who scored four goals and one for Trent Ainsworth, which was also his first for the season. The goalie position was played very strongly by a shared effort between Xavier, Trent, and Haven McHugh.
