Laney Cahoon produced a late equalizer as the KESD South 5/6 girls battled to a 2-all draw with Lyndon 1 in a hard-fought contest at Concord Field on Monday.

Cora Adams gave Lyndon a 1-0 lead in the opening minutes, slotting home a pass from Lucy Moriarty. Lyndon then made it 2-0 midway through the first half, Moriarty finishing a hard shot from in close.

Poppy Beniash trimmed the deficit to 2-1 late in the first half, knocking home her own rebound. Late in the game and following a late South offensive surge, Cahoon received a pass from Beniash in the box and drove it past the goalkeeper to help KESD South draw even and stay unbeaten through four games.

Tanner Kittredge made a handful of saves in the second half for South.

KESD South (1-0-3) is off until Oct. 6 when it hosts Danville.
