Lyndon Town School COVID Positive Test & Remote Learning

March 24, 2021

Hello Parents of Lyndon Town School Students

This is Principal Amy Gale with an important message. Please listen to the entire message. Today, Wednesday, March 24, 2021, we learned that a person within the LTS community has tested positive for the Coronavirus. We are working with the VT Department of Health regarding this information.

As a precautionary measure we are pivoting the entire school to remote learning for Thursday, March 25. No students will be in the building for learning on Thursday.

Our return to school on Friday will be dependent on the completion of contact tracing and the information we receive from the Vermont Department of Health. Students should use the remote learning paper packets which were sent home earlier this year, for their learning activities for the day on Thursday. All students should spend time reading. Teachers will be reaching out to check in with students via phone calls or electronic means if available. If you would like breakfast and lunch for your student on the remote day, it can be picked up at the school. Please call and we will have it ready for you.

Thank you for understanding that, due to medical privacy laws, we are not able to release information about the individual with COVID-19. Please do not speculate or ask about the individual, we are a small community and want to respect all members.

Please answer the phone if the Health Department or our school office contacts you. A contact tracer may be trying to reach you with important information. If you are not contacted by the department of Health or our office within 48 hours, it means you are not a close contact.

We urge everyone to take action to help limit the spread of COVID-19.

The recent uptick in cases locally is a strong reminder that we must continue to:
● Make sure your child is wearing a mask.
● Make sure your child is washing their hands.
● Keep your child home if they are sick.
● Call your primary care provider if you or your child have symptoms of COVID-19.

Thursday afternoon I will communicate an update to you from our school office regarding the return date for students.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at (626-3209) or by email at agale@kingdomeast.org.
