Magic Tree House: Pirates Past Noon KIDS*

Cast members age 7 through entering 5th grade* in the fall.

Performance dates: July 10 at 7 p.m., July 11 at 7 p.m., July 12 at 7 p.m., July 13 at 2 p.m.

Rehearsals will be held on weekdays, 4:00–5:15 p.m., until schools are done for the year, at which time they will be 2:00–4:00 p.m. Remember that not all cast members may be called to every rehearsal. Participants in this age group need to have a designated adult present at rehearsals.

Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR.*

Cast members entering 5th grade* in the fall through entering 8th grade in the fall.

Performance dates: July 17 at 7 p.m., July 18 at 7 p.m., July 19 at 7 p.m., July 20 at 2 p.m.

Rehearsals will be held on weekdays, 5:30–6:45 p.m., until schools are done for the year, at which time they will be 4:15–6:15 p.m. Remember that not all cast members may be called to every rehearsal.

Please note: Students entering 5th grade in the fall may choose to participate in either Magic Tree House: Pirates Past Noon KIDS or Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR.

Alice by Heart*

Cast members entering 9th grade in the fall through just-finishing seniors.

Performance dates: July 24 at 7 p.m., July 25 at 7 p.m., July 26 at 7 p.m., July 27 at 2 p.m.

Rehearsals will be held on weekdays, sometime between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m., until schools are done for the year, at which time they may begin as early as 6:30 p.m. and run later than 9 p.m.

Remember that not all cast members may be called to every rehearsal.

Non-Acting Roles

Choreographers, pit players, techies, sound people, costume creators, artists for sets and props, backstage helpers, stage managers, and more, are also welcome to join in the creation of theatrical productions this season. If you are interested, please either attend an audition session or contact the theater at 802-626-5358 or vermontchildrenstheater@gmail.com.

Audition Information

At the Vermont Children’s Theater, there is no charge to participate, and everyone who auditions and has completed the necessary paperwork will be included in the cast. For cast members who are under 18, a parent or guardian signature is required!

Auditions dates and times are as follows: Saturday & Sunday, May 24 & 25, 2025

• 1:30–3:00 p.m. Magic Tree House: Pirates Past Noon KIDS (Auditions will be run as a group.)
• 3:30–5:00 p.m. Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. (Participants may prepare 20 seconds of a song to share.)
• 6:00–8:00 p.m. Alice by Heart (Participants may prepare 20 seconds of a song to share.)

Participants need to attend only one audition session. If you are unable to attend one of the scheduled audition sessions, please contact the theater at 802-626-5358 or vermontchildrenstheater@gmail.com to make alternate arrangements for auditioning.
